Who Made Me? You Are God's Masterpiece!

Have you ever made something really special? Maybe a drawing, a Lego castle, or a clay sculpture? When you finished, did you look at it and say, "Wow, that's awesome!"?

Well, guess what? God did the same thing when He made YOU!

You Are Not an Accident

The Bible tells us something amazing in Psalm 139. It says that God "knit you together" in your mother's tummy. Just like a grandma knits a cozy sweater with care and love, God put you together with even MORE love.

He chose your eye color. He chose your laugh. He even knows how many hairs are on your head (and that's a lot of hair!). You are not an accident. You were made on purpose, for a purpose.

God's Masterpiece

The Bible calls us God's "workmanship" or masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10). A masterpiece is the best work of an artist. Think of the most beautiful painting in a museum. You are more precious to God than that painting!

Because God made you, you are special. It doesn't matter if you are tall or short, fast or slow, loud or quiet. God made you exactly the way He wanted you to be.

He Knows Your Name

Sometimes we might feel lonely or like nobody understands us. But God knows everything about us. He knows when we sit down and when we stand up. He knows what we are going to say before we even say it! And the best part is, even though He knows everything (even our mistakes), He still loves us completely.

🌟 The Big Question

If God made you and says you are "very good," what does that mean about how you should treat yourself? What about how you should treat others?

🎨 Activity: Mirror, Mirror

What you need: A mirror and a dry-erase marker (or just sticky notes!).

  1. Look in the mirror. What do you see?
  2. Sometimes we look in the mirror and only see things we don't like (like messy hair or a funny nose).
  3. But God sees a masterpiece!
  4. Write this verse on the mirror (or a sticky note) and stick it where you can see it every morning:

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." - Psalm 139:14

Talk about it: Every time you look in the mirror this week, say that verse out loud. Remember that the God who made the stars also made YOU!
