Walking with God: The Story of Enoch

Do you have a best friend? Someone you like to walk to school with, or play with at recess? When you are best friends, you like to be together all the time. You talk, you listen, and you go where they go.

The Bible tells us about a man named Enoch who was best friends with God!

A Special Walk

Enoch lived a long time ago, when many people were forgetting about God. They were making bad choices and being mean to each other. But not Enoch. The Bible says Enoch "walked with God."

This doesn't mean they just went for a hike! It means Enoch lived his life close to God. He talked to God in prayer. He listened to what God said. He tried to do things that made God happy. He didn't follow the crowd; he followed God.

The Surprise Ending

Enoch and God were such good friends that one day, something amazing happened. Enoch didn't die like other people. The Bible says, "God took him away." One day they were walking together, and God just took Enoch home to heaven to be with Him forever!

You Can Walk with God Too!

You don't have to be a grown-up or a prophet to walk with God. You can start right now!

  • Talk to Him: You can pray anytime, anywhere.
  • Listen to Him: Read Bible stories to learn what He is like.
  • Trust Him: When you are scared or don't know what to do, hold God's hand (by trusting Him in your heart).

🌟 The Big Question

If you could go on a walk with God today, what would you want to talk to Him about? What do you think He would say to you?

🎨 Activity: Footprint Path

What you need: Paper, scissors, and tape.

  1. Trace your foot (with your shoe on!) on several pieces of paper.
  2. Cut out the footprints.
  3. On each footprint, write one way you can walk with God (e.g., "Pray," "Share," "Be Kind," "Read Bible").
  4. Tape them on the floor to make a path in your room.

Talk about it: Walk on your path and say out loud the ways you are going to walk with God this week!
