God's Big Plan

God's Big Plan: A Story of Love

Hi there! Did you know that the Bible is one big story? It has many smaller stories inside it, stories about heroes, kings, and even talking donkeys! But all of these smaller stories fit together to tell one GIANT story. It’s the story of God’s Big Plan.

The Beginning

A long, long time ago, God made the whole world. He made the stars, the oceans, the animals, and people like you and me! Everything was perfect. God walked with people in a beautiful garden, and everyone was happy.

The Problem

But then, something sad happened. People decided they didn't want to listen to God anymore. They wanted to do things their own way. This is called sin. Sin is like a big wall that separates us from God. It made the world broken and sad.

The Promise

But God didn't give up on His people! He had a plan from the very beginning to fix everything. He promised that one day, He would send a Rescuer. This Rescuer would break down the wall of sin and bring people back to God.

Throughout the Old Testament, God gave clues about this Rescuer.

  • He told Abraham that the Rescuer would come from his family.
  • He showed Moses that the Rescuer would save people, just like the lamb saved the Israelites.
  • He promised David that the Rescuer would be a King forever.

The Rescuer Arrives!

Do you know who the Rescuer is? It’s Jesus! Jesus came to earth to show us what God is like. He lived a perfect life and then did something amazing. He took the punishment for our sin so that the wall could be broken down. Because of Jesus, we can be friends with God again!

Your Part in the Story

God’s Big Plan isn't just a story from long ago. It’s a story for YOU too! God invites you to be part of His family. When we trust in Jesus, we get to be part of God’s Big Plan to show His love to the world.

🌟 The Big Question

If you were writing a story, would you want a happy ending? How does it make you feel to know that God has written a happy ending for us through Jesus?

🎨 Activity: The Story Circle

What you need: Paper, crayons or markers.

  1. Draw a big circle on your paper.
  2. Divide the circle into 4 parts (like a pizza!).
  3. In part 1, draw a picture of Creation (trees, animals).
  4. In part 2, draw a sad face for The Fall (when sin entered).
  5. In part 3, draw a Cross for Redemption (Jesus saving us).
  6. In part 4, draw a happy face or a crown for Restoration (everything made new!).

Talk about it: Explain your drawing to your family. Show them how the story goes from happy, to sad, to happy again because of Jesus!
